Have you ever wondered how clean water finds its way to your faucet or what becomes of the kitchen compost you save?
City / Public Services:
CanDo organizes and conducts field trips to Napa’s state-of-the-art facilities for water and sewage treatment (NapaSan, http://napasan.com/), and to Napa Recycling and Waste Services (NRWS, https://naparecycling.com/). It’s surprising how many of us are unaware of what’s involved in providing these basic services. We all learn something new each time we visit.
CANV’s Food Bank and Pantry:
CanDo works closely with the CANV Food Bank to reduce food insecurity. On field trips to the CANV Food Bank and Pantry, participants are amazed to learn that more than 10,000 Napa County rely each month on the critical services they provide.
Hosting School Field Trips
to the CanDo’s Garden for the CANV Food Bank: Classes of school students are welcome to visit CanDo’s Food Bank Garden. While there, they can help harvest, weed or plant seeds. Often, they take the food they’ve harvested directly to the Food Pantry where they learn how CANV Food Bank supports hungry neighbors.
