CanDo Suggests a Few Ways to Help

During COVID-19

Maintain physical distancing but stay socially connected.

Shelter-at-home as much as possible.

Wash hands frequently.

If you need to leave home, wear a face cover.

Check in on friends.

Seek out the small pleasures,

“sun breaks,” that brighten your day.

COVID VOC header with thank yous

During this COVID-19 crisis, Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) and Napa Valley CanDo have created a way for Napa County residents to stand up and say, “I want to help.” It’s Volunteers on Call.

With the situation changing so rapidly, we need to be ready to respond with dispatch. With your help, we can.

Complete this simple form to be listed. Your contact information will NEVER be shared with third parties. Instead, we’ll reach out as needs arise. You always have the option to opt out if an opportunity doesn’t feel like the right fit.

Please share the VOC link with others.

Spread the word – not the virus!

Sew Face Covers

"Wearing a mask when you need to be out of your house

is an act of community solidarity,

showing people around you that you care about protecting them

as much as keeping yourself protected.

And it's an empowering chance to exercise creativity

and personality during a time of uncertainty."

- Enkhbayar Munkh-Erdene

Across the valley, neighbors are pitching in to sew colorful face covers for folks they don't even know. Go to Operation: With LOVE from HOME’s website for more information including suggestions for hygiene while sewing and patterns. See flyer here.

Supporting them in this effort, Napa Valley CanDo, Operation: With Love From Home, and Napa Valley Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD), have joined forces to make it easy to get all those face covers to the valley residents most in need.

Have Your Face Covers Picked-up
Right at Your Front Door

If you’ve been sewing face covers and want them to go to those most in need, CanDo's ace volunteers from our green bag project will pick them up! Just leave them outside your front door in a paper bag. How easy is that?

Simply fill out this form to reserve a pick up for any Saturday, 9-11AM, now through May 30. Reserve your pick-up by the Thursday prior to your selected Saturday. We ask for pick-ups of ten or more face covers.

If you prefer, you may drive-through and drop off face covers directly to Operation: With Love From Home volunteers. Drop-offs are at Storage Pro, 626 California Blvd., Napa on the same Saturdays 9AM-noon.

Let's do all we CanDo to take care of one another.
